Why no work this weekend?

no work, no money..

they did have a roadshow this weekend.. but seems like they finally realise one person is sufficient to conduct the game.. jesters are not useful at all.. so no need to waste money.. I think the boss realised this.. from what he observed last week.. working with the boss around is quite scary.. he will know you got work or not.. haha.. but I am hardworking okay..

the leader at the branch don't tell me that he still working at the roadshow.. but today I went orchard so I saw him working there.. haha.. I not blur blur okay.. I know what's going on..

anyway no work also good.. can have time to pack bag.. hee.. tmr going scamp liao.. but still haven't pack bag.. okay tmr morning will do it.. oops..

so I will be away for a 5-days camp.. hope it will be filled with fun.. and hope I will have a good bunch of freshies..

The Holland V gethering last month..

hee.. I should have talked about this long time ago.. but don't know why just lazy to do it..

yah.. it was our usual holland v gang gathering to talk talk.. eat eat and celebrate birthdays at coffee club... it was belated celebration of my birthday and also jiahui's and priscilla's.. all together.. it's nice that we celebrate one another's birthday.. so that none of us will have to celebrate it alone..

this year my birthday.. I only received present from my mother and some more it is I ownself buy de.. I claimed the money from her later.. haha.. so I am really very happy to receive the present from the holland V gang.. my only present from friends.. so I really treasure these friendships..

other than the presents, they also treat us haagen dazs ice cream.. ate chocolate fondue.. not bad.. got fruits, ice cream balls and biscuits.. but quite ex lah.. luckily I got voucher to cover some costs..

Is it a dog or a boy?

Last sun, I was on my way to work at orchard.. then I saw an ang moh with his son.. then I saw something which I feel quite surprised..The boy has a strap that is wrapped around him and it link to a long strap which his father is holding on to.. I understand the father may not want his son to run away from him but tying his son up like this.. a bit weird right.. maybe it is something usual in the ang moh country but not here bah.. that father is taking a stroll with his son but it just like taking a dog for a stroll with a long strap linked to his collar.. this picture really appears in my mind.. haha..

something interesting about asparagus..

I like asparagus a lot.. those young, green and thin ones.. usually used with western food.. I like it becos it is crunchy.. and special.. green veggie with no leaf.. other than the green bean lah.. My mother always boiled it and cooked with oyster sauce.. yummy..

I actually went to read up about it on wikipedia.. becos want to find out something about it that I don't understand.. will talk about it later.. hee..

Asparagus is low in calories, contains no fat or cholesterol, and is very low in sodium. It is good source of folic acid, potassium, fiber, and rutin.. so it is a good veggie..

This may sound gross but I just don't understand why my urine smell more pungent after eating asparagus.. so here is the answer:
"Some of the constituents of asparagus are metabolised and excreted in the urine, giving it a distinctive, pungent odour. The odour is due to various sulfur-containing degradation products (e.g. ammonia, thiols and thioesters). It is only detectable by the noses of some people. Recent studies suggest that every individual produces the odourous compounds, but that only about 40% of individuals have the genes required to smell the odour. The speed of onset of urine smell is rapid, and has been estimated to occur within 15-30 minutes from ingestion."

haha.. I finally got my answer.. and I am among the lucky 40% ppl who have the genes.. interesting..

Sentosa in the night..

I am supposed to write this long ago.. a month ago.. I made the trip to sentosa on the fri of the last week of exams..

My friends and I decided to go to sentosa to watch the new laser show "Songs of the Sea".. the old musical fountain had closed.. this is the new replacement of the attraction..

This was the first time I went to Sentosa in the night after so many years.. I have been going to sentosa beaches seems like every june vacation.. for camp activities.. which are held in the afternoon.. so I never really see the night scenery in sentosa before after all the renovation.. this time going to sentosa in the night is a new experience for me.. and we get to sit on the sentosa express for the first time.. yah.. the new sentosa monorail.. there is no more ferry rides to sentosa.. and this monorail is the new transport to sentosa.. and the price is still the same at $3.. and you can take the train to and fro as many times within the day..

felt quite excited to take this express train.. first time mah.. and the card used to enter the station actually feel like a hard cardboard card.. but is a contactless smart card that you use exactly like a ezylink card.. really high tech.. sitting on the train from vivocity, you can see the St James Powerstation passing by, then cross the short strip of sea and reach the first station which is not accessible now as it is for the new IR.. then the 2nd stop is the imbiah station where the various attractions are located like the merlion.. then the last station is the beach station which is our destination.. yah so fast reach last station liao.. this monorail is so different from the last one.. this monorail don't go round the island at all.. not much scenery to see from the train lor.. hai~ quite a disappointment..

the beach station is situated on the side of palawan beach near the siloso beach.. and the laser show is just next to the station.. yah the show is on the beach.. seats that can accomodate hundreds of people are installed so are some kampong kelong houses models are built above the water near the beach.. on the sand in front the seats are some fake big rocks.. this place has been surrounded by many tall wooden stilts.. so you will be able to see the show clearly unless you buy the tix at $6.. however, as the show is projected to the sky.. from outside you actually can see some laser stuff, some explosion effects and fireworks.. ha.. so you actually can see some of the show without paying..

we were just in time for the second show at 8.40pm and the first show at 7.40 has already started when we are there so we actually can see and hear some of the effects from outside lah.. as there is still some time before the show started, we decided to walk around the shops near there. then at about 8pm, we walked back to the entrance and we already see a long queue there.. we are quite shocked lah.. need to be so kaisu mah? so we went to queue too lor.. many of the people watching the show are tourists and there is a couple who queued in front of us chatted with us.. they are from china.. and they are actually quite impressed that we are able to speak english and mandarin so well and fluently.. which we are quite surprised by it.. becos we are just speaking a rojak of chinese and english like what we usually did.. which is very singlish lor.. haha.. and they are surprised that we are actually uni students.. haha.. they thought we are younger than that.. haha.. quite happy to hear that..

when the show starting soon, we are allowed to enter to take a seat and we found some good seats in the centre not too front and not too back as the show will involve performance at the front on the beach and at the sky.. okay.. the storyline is quite lame.. not very interesting.. at the beginning, they asked for audience participation to sing along some of singapore songs in the four languages.. and the response quite bad.. not many people sang along.. then the effects and the more exciting part of the story started.. but exactly exciting lah.. it is all about a young man using his charming voice to awake a beautiful sleeping princess.. the voice is not bad at first but he sang the same melody so many times lor.. you will grow quite sick of it..

what really worth the ticket price are the visual effects, the lasers, pyrotechnics and special computer imaging which forms the images of the character in the smoke that serves as a white screen.. there are also stunning flame bursts which you will really feel the strong heat.. wow! there are water jets from the stilts of the kelong which gave the magnificent water fountain show.. like the old one.. at the end, firework burst into the sky.. so beautiful.. first time I see a real firework leh.. I am like "a frog in the bottom of a well".. haha..

after the show, we went to walk around sentosa.. the sentosa in the night, is quite peaceful.. peaceful in the sense that there are not many people.. as many of the attractions are closed in the night.. not many tourist walking around.. a bit deserted and eerie.. haha..

we found that we have nothing to see so when we reached the 2nd station which is just a short distance from the beach station, we hop on the train and back to Singapore!

I found this interesting.. why is there a cow in vivocity.. and it is trying to hide from us behind the pillar.. but the pillar is not wide enough for it to hide.. haha.. silly..

A trip to the dentist..

I am quite scared of going to the dentist de.. don't know leh.. maybe last time the dental nurse in my Pri sch is very fierce bah..

it has been nearly 3 years that I didn't visit the dentist lor.. oops.. should visit once half a year right.. but I didn't.. very ex lor.. one time of checking and cleaning..

I went to this dentist near my house.. this dentist graduated from NUS lor.. hee.. but I never get to see his face.. becos throughout, he didn't remove his mask which covered his face.. even when he spoke to me.. I can only see his eyes..

I really don't like he "drilling" and picking into every small space between the teeth.. quite painful and I can feel that he is "drilling" into my gums lor.. and I can feel the blood that is coming out.. I say "drilling" becos it really sound like one.. and I was allowed to rinse my mouth 3 times.. and I can see blood being spit out of my mouth.. sound gross right..

this cleaning process only last about 15 min bah.. but it seems forever for me.. I was thinking when it going to stop.. haha.. after the cleaning, the dentist commented that my teeth are quite bad and I should have visit the dentist once half a year.. and I should floss my teeth.. okay I am guilty of not taking good care of my teeth well.. I will definitely listen to what he says.. but this visit costs me $45.. and I didn't do polishing and whitening of teeth which will cost additional $65.. so ex..

my gum and teeth still aching now.. so afraid my teeth will drop off.. ouch..

having received the replies "No" so many times, I really feel quite sick and sad..

Why am I like the most free one? everyone is so busy, filled with things to do like working, dates and own stuff.. and me.. I didn't receive any call to work after approaching some places for part-time.. why?

and my mother really don't like me doing my own stuff at home.. she is so bossy and naggy.. she can't stand me to be so free right.. haha.. I really want to work to earn money or go out to breathe in some "fresh" air.. everyday stays at home also not good mah.. ask my friends out.. I just can't fit into their schedule lor.. hai~

but last night I really happy to get a positive reply.. "tmr cannot.. some other day?" yes.. seeing "some other day".. feels so good.. at least got chance to go out mah.. haha.. next week..

anyway.. this is just the boredom this week.. weekend will have to work for the events company.. next week got scamp prep camp and a chance to go out..

really looking forward and more happy now..
